The People Behind This

Why We Built
Movers Exposed

Decades of combined experience across the moving industry: sales floors, dispatch desks, operations, and customer service. We've seen the tactics, the scripts, and every way a customer gets taken advantage of. This is what we do with that.

We worked the other side of that call.

Movers Exposed is written and maintained by a group of people who spent years inside the moving industry. Between us, we've worked the sales floors, sat at the dispatch desks, handled the customer service lines, and dealt with the carriers directly. When you picked up the phone thinking you'd reached a moving company and instead got a commissioned salesperson whose entire job was to collect your deposit before you asked too many questions, you were talking to people like us.

We've seen the tactics used to book jobs. We've watched customer service absorb the anger of customers who were misled. We've seen deposits locked in through booking tricks, jobs handed to carriers no one was comfortable with, loads that went sideways, and customers blindsided on delivery day by charges nobody warned them about.

The industry has a real problem. Not with the rules, which actually protect customers quite well, but with the gap between what the rules say and what customers are told. Most people don't read the FMCSA guide before they move. Most people don't know what a Bill of Lading is until they're standing in front of a truck being asked to sign one.

Movers Exposed exists to close that gap. The guide on this site is written from the inside, by people who know how the process actually works, not how it's supposed to look on paper. Our goal is simple: no one should have to figure this out the hard way.

"The rules exist to protect you. The problem is nobody explains them until after something goes wrong. That's what this site is for."

The information matters. The names don't.

Contributors to this site remain anonymous. Some still have ties to the industry; others simply prefer that the focus stay on the information rather than on individuals. Nothing published here depends on knowing who said it. Every rule, regulation, and consumer protection referenced in the guide can be independently verified through the official FMCSA resources linked throughout the site.

Independent. Unsponsored. Honest.

Movers Exposed is not affiliated with any moving company, broker, or carrier. We do not accept payment from moving companies for placement or endorsement. Every resource linked on this site is a government or official consumer protection resource.

The reviews published here are submitted by real customers, reviewed manually before publishing, and presented as factual first-person accounts.

Your experience matters.

If you've been through a bad move, or even a good one, submit your story. And if you've worked inside the industry yourself, we want to hear from you too. Every account published here helps someone else make a better decision before they pick up the phone.
